At the foot of a mountain

Post university induction signals the beginning of my PhD journey, which at the moment, feels like I am at the foot of a 3 to 4 year metaphorical mountain. However, I do have all the tools, support and research materials needed in order to climb over the metaphorical mountain and appear at the other side – hopefully intact and with an original contribution to knowledge.

The beginning is always the most daunting (the blank page moment), but my reasons for pursuing PhD Art & Design ‘Textile Thinking’ studies – are of deep interest and personal meaning to me. Therefore, I will endeavour to get the most out of my research doctorate and all being well, I will learn the skill of weaving and bridge the gap of lost knowledge of my Ancestral Textile Heritage – specifically Worsted Weaving in Huddersfield.
